Dear wjkennaugh,

Do not fear for Prinknash Abbey and its hobbit-like monks. It still exists and there are lots of web links. It appears they relocated and had no need for Leavis. But I too have been looking for a copy of this rant.

What an extraordinary little review you offer. I have read 'The Two Cultures' (transcript, 1959) but not Leavis' response, which I eagerly seek.

Similarly I hope that Pricknash Abbey have not been fraudulently deprived of their book. I, for one, do not know of the place but it sounds quite fine and hobbit-like.

Anyhow, your words have whetted my appetite.
Many thanks.

An important announcement from a fellow blogger, please read and post. :)

“If” your blog gets marked as a “mature” blog new readers won’t be able to find your new posts via tags or search engines. You’ll be lost to new readership. “Mature” doesn’t mean “bad” it just means not for kids (at the minimum). If you have a suggestion for WordPress to fix this form of censorship you can submit it here:

http://en.forums.wordpress.com/forum.php?id=1

Scroll to the bottom, topic = mature blogs, you fill in the body, tags = mature blogs, and suggestions.
My suggestions were to make it like over at YouTube where they have a page pop up warning of “mature” content, and if you’re still interested, they sign up and say “let me in” and boom, you’re in there.
The other idea is to make it a toggle switch in the dashboard, kind of like what Google has. If you don’t want your results to be filtered, you turn the filter off. It’s as easy as that.
If you have any better ideas, let them know, or feel free to copy and paste my idea, and send it to WordPress, or just tell them “something” should be done. The point is, the more people they hear from, the better it will be for everyone, bloggers and readers alike.
Thank you for your time, and I hope your cooperatioin.
